What's special about online poker in the USA?
In 2006, the US Congress passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (see also Wikipedia). It "prohibits gambling businesses from knowingly accepting payments in connection with the participation of another person in a bet or wager that involves the use of the Internet and that is unlawful under any federal or state law."
This means that although taking part in online poker games itself might not be illegal in most parts of the United States, as a US citizen it's not possible to legally deposit or withdraw money in an online poker account.
In consequence and full accordance with the legal requirements set by the UIGA, PokerStrategy.com does not offer any free bankrolls or access to its partner poker rooms to customers residing in the US.
