zhivago2 wins largest ever FTOPS Main Event
The fourteenth FTOPS Main Event attracted the largest field in its history after chalking up 5,471entries. zhivago2 emerged as the champion to take down $418,839.
FTOPS XIV was concluded with the largest ever FTOPS Main Event field generating a massive prize pool of $2,735,500. With 5,471 players signing up for the $535 buy-in tournament, the final prize pool handily exceeded the $2.5 million that was initially guaranteed by Full Tilt Poker.
No less than 70 Full Tilt Poker sponsored pros also took part in the event. Leading the charge was none other than event host and newest Team Full Tilt member Tom "durrrr" Dwan. durrrr busted out before the cash in 949th while David Colclough who finished in 250th place was the best finisher among them.
zhivago2 takes his chip lead to the end
The top 720 finishers were awarded a share of the spoils, while a top 18 finish would be rewarded with a five figure prize. After an agreement for a chop between the final 3, zhivago2 took home $418,839.16 for his win and Kevin "ItsTime2Win" Pionkowski was awarded $316,554.40 as the second place finisher. Five of the nine finalists earned a six figure payday.
