Gus accuses SallyWoo of cheating
This week Gus Hansen has accused fellow high stakes player 'SallyWoo' of using an illegal computer programme during their Omaha Hi/Lo game. The Great Dane took to the chat box to call out his opponent.
In a discussion that was captured over at the forums of HighStakesDB.com, Hansen is quoted as saying "I believe you have an O8 program - thats all I said"
It is hard to tell from the chat log quite what the issue was between Gus and SallyWoo, as it appears to have been based around a previous conversation.
We have no idea if Gus is on to something with his accusations, but it must be hard not to get paranoid when your total online losses are almost $15 million.
Taxi driver returns lost $300,000 to poker player
Whoever said poker players were careless with money? Well, they were right.
This week a prominent poker player who has not been named, accidently left $300,000 in the back seat of a taxi in Las Vegas.
Gerardo Gamboa, a taxi driver for 13 years, assumed it was a bag of chocolate in his cab. To his shock he found six bundles of $100 bills totalling $300,000.
Amazingly he did the decent thing and returned every cent of it, saying “Even though I am a poor guy, I don’t need money that doesn’t belong to me".
According to the Las Vegas Review Journal someone else tried to make a claim for the $300,000, but was not the name linked to a $300,000 payout at the Cosmopolitan Hotel & Casino. The money has since been returned to its original owner, who hopefully has gone one better than the initial $5 tip he paid for the journey.
UKIPT schedule revealed
PokerStars have released details of their 2014 UK & Ireland Poker Tour. The popular series is of interest to players from all of Europe as not only do they have big international attendances, they also have an event in mainland Europe.

While most of us were eating turkey and opening presents, Christmas Day saw plenty of action at the high stakes tables. The big winner of the day was 'UhhMee' who booked a $141,822 winning day after 1,079 hands.
Daniel 'junglemandan' Cates was not in as much festive cheer, as he was the big loser, dropping $163,735 overall.
