We round-up the stories you may have missed including an update for the PokerStars Championship and a major charity donation by a poker pro.
Liv Boeree presents the weather
Poker pro, physicist, presenter, model, game show contestant, boxer, philanthropist, guitarist and now weather girl. It's fair to say Liv Boeree has more than one talent.
We are not entirely sure of the background yet of this picture, but the EPT San Remo champion seems pretty happy about her new potential vocation:

Dan Smith giving big for charity
While poker is by nature a selfish pursuit, time and time again poker players show their charitable side, and Super High Roller king Dan Smith is being particularly generous.
He is willing to match up to $175,000 in charity donations for a charity drive, between now and the end of the year.
He is diversifying donations into nine worthy causes including The Against Malaria Foundation, Give Directly and a number of charities designed at tackling problems in the US prison system. To find out more and how to get a donation matched, check out his blog.
PokerStars Championship update
With the final ever EPT next month ahead of the rebranding of the tour to the PokerStars Championship, Head of Live Operations Neil Johnson has shared more details on the new tour.
He has confirmed that the tour will not be rounding down the buy-ins (except for the first event in the Bahamas), so where an event would previously had been €5,300 it still will be, not rounded down to €5,000 as was first anticipated.
Johnson also confirmed the payout structure for events starting in 2017:
- All events of €/$/£10,000 or more will retain the previous 12%-15% payout structure.
- All other events will payout an expanded 17%-20% of the field, but adhere to a 20% ceiling.
- For the expanded payouts, a min-cash will be about 1.5x the buy-in of the event.
Hellmuth on the Tim Ferriss podcast
More mainstream attention for the game, soon after Dan Bilzerian was on the Joe Rogan Podcast, it appears Phil Hellmuth will soon be on the Tim Ferriss podcast.
No doubt Phil will be discussing some of the subjects in his upcoming book and Ferriss himself is inviting questions from fans.

Self-help guru Ferriss is no stranger to poker, having once had a crash course in the game from Phil Gordon for his show The Tim Ferriss Experiment.
However, it will be interesting to see how Tim responds to his request for feedback, as if you look at his Twitter mentions you will see some of the biggest names in poker suggesting that Ferriss use his platform to grill Hellmuth about his role in the UltimateBet scandal.
