New DFS site launched by Phil Galfond

Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond, who is expected to announce a new online poker site, has released a Daily Fantasy Sports site first.

Professional poker player Phil Galfond has revealed details of his new Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) site which will be called Draftboard.

Launched with the help of Las Vegas-based CEO Dan Quinn, the new site is up and running now and offers a similar line-up of games as DraftKings and FanDuel, although with a greater focus on recreational players.

While those two operators, who were recently denied a merger, are live in the UK, Draftboard is currently only available to American players, offering NFL games only.

DFS with some new tweaks

The tweaks being that Galfond’s site will look to reduce the skill edge owned by the pros in a number of ways, one of which is to keep recs protected from the pros by keeping the two as separate as possible while still allowing multi-entries without putting single entry users at a disadvantage.

The unique multi-entry system promises to pair-up first entries with other first entries, second with second, etc, and, thanks to random opponent selection, pros are unable to target easier opponents. Players are also being prevented from playing low and high buy-in events on the same day.

In late 2016, Galfond announced plans to launch an online poker site which, as far as we know, is still in the works.
