Is a dime $1k or $10k?

We recap some stories you may have missed including Andrew Yang drops out and Daniel Cates is still chasing Tom Dwan.

How much is a dime worth in poker?

Mike 'Timex' McDonald found himself resolving quite a unique dispute between two gamblers this week, the question of how much a 'dime' was in poker parlance.

In this particular debate somebody wanted to bet $10,000, but the other person seemed to agree but said they were betting a 'dime', which in Vegas circles is $1,000.

It all got resolved as you can see below, but it's a pretty fun dive into Mike's mentions to the tweet to see what the poker world thought.

Yang drops out

Sad news for US poker players (and frankly anyone who wanted a sensible candidate in the White House this year) as Andrew Yang has dropped out of the Democratic primaries.

He was considered a breath of fresh air by many because he focussed on modern issues that are not being addressed, like automation, Universal Basic Income and tech companies paying the public for the data they hold on them.

He was also the only Presidential hopeful who publically gave his support for the legalisation of online poker in the United States.

Jungleman still chasing Dwan

It has been almost a decade since they last played a hand of the durrrr Challenge, but Daniel Cates has not forgot. This week he took to Twitter to try and get the elusive Tom Dwan to address his welching on their prop bet.

The challenge stopped when Full Tilt went down following Black Friday. At the time of writing Dwan is down $1,251,059 to Cates with 30,665 of the agreed 50,000 hands left to play (and a $1.5 million side bet on top).

Should we be worried about Phil Galfond?

Just before Phil Galfond announced he might be quitting his own heads-up challenge, Joey Ingram asked, should we be worried about him?

Dan is back (on YouTube)

Very timely, SrslySirius thought he had lost this classic video from the archives but he found it and reuploaded it this week:

Was it $1,000 or $10,000? Let us know in the comments:
