Lex Live III cancelled

The coronavirus hits another live poker event with an online player base, but PokerStars still plan to host the PSPC.

Apologies if you are sick of seeing stories about major poker events being cancelled, but it's very hard to ignore and it impacts live poker players and online qualifiers, so buckle in and get ready for more. 

The latest live poker event that attracted International audiences and online qualifiers to get pulled is Lex Live III, which was due to take place in London between April 17 and 26. The event was more of a fun 'meetup' style festival rather than a majorly serious poker tournament, and the field was largely made up of Lex Veldhuis's Twitch audience. 

Today Veldhuis announced that the tournament was no longer going ahead:

Anyone who has qualified for the event will be contacted in the next 24 hours and will have the value of their package credited to their PokerStars account. 

In other PokerStars news, despite several 'Road to PSPC' events being cancelled, there are no plans to postpone the PSPC itself, which takes place in Barcelona in August. This was confirmed to pokerfuse by a PokerStars spokesperson.

Elsewhere, perhaps the biggest sign so far that the World Series of Poker might be cancelled or at least changed. Donald Trump has ordered a travel ban on 26 European countries to the US. If that is still in place in May, the WSOP as we know it will at a minimum look very different.
