Mike McDonald wins epic basketball prop bet
Timex managed to shoot 90/100 consecutive free throws to take down a six-figure prop bet in half the time he set aside for it.
Mike 'Timex' McDonald does not have a reputation as an athlete but he has always been known as somebody you don't want to bet against, as a lot of people discovered last month.
Back in April he took on a six-figure bet that he could sink 90 of 100 basketball free throws, with a deadline of the end of the year. As you can see from the video below, he was not a natural basketballer (or it was a clever hustle):

Perhaps it was the nature of the lockdown meaning he had more time, but he managed to get there in barely four months. Last month he filmed himself attempting the bet, coming agonisingly close in one attempt and managing it in another. However, he took a 30 minute break during that attempt when he had run out of time on the court he hired. This was something that was allowed in the original terms of the bet, but did cause a bit of controversy. Most notably from poker commentator Nick Schulman who took issue with it at first, but later apologised for doing so:

While Timex said he felt he did not have to defend the break (though he did offer the losers $0.96 on the dollar), he didn't want an asterix over his achievement and went back to the court to get that uninterrupted 90 out of 100:

This is a remarkable achievement and he appears to have caught the free throw bug. He has made it clear he would be happy to bet he could do 90/100 another 50 times this year, but it seems only a fool would bet against him.
