EPT Prague attracts another record field

Despite competition from the WPT and WSOP, the EPT Prague Main Event is the biggest of all time.

This is proving to be quite the week in poker. When the EPT, WPT and WSOP went up against each other in December, the presumption was at least one event would suffer a hit in numbers. EPT Prague, with no guarantee, looked to be the victim. 

Yet here we are, the World Poker Tour has just boasted the biggest 1k in history, WSOP Paradise hit all their guarantees, and now EPT Prague has had a record attendance. 

Last year it attracted a record 1,267 runners, last night it went one better and attracted a staggering 1,285 (935 unique and 349 re-entries). 

191 players will make the money and €1,030,000 awaits the winner. You can watch the event play down to a champion via the PokerStars Twitch page. 

Earlier this month the Eureka Main Event attracted a record 4,403, up from 4,017 last year. 

This is a tremendous time to be in poker and proof that the game is booming. Three of the biggest poker events in the game's history are happening at the same time, thousands of miles from each other.
