The biggest EPT Prague Main Event ever
The WSOP and WPT could not put a dent in the European Poker Tour for the 2nd year in a row as we have had another record breaker in Prague.
After a record field in the Eureka Main Event we predicted we would see something similar in the EPT Prague Main Event, and we were right.
After late registration, the final numbers came in at 1,458 entries. That crushes last year's record of 1,285 when Padraig O'Neill took it down for €1,030,000.
What that means is that €1,146,500 will await the eventual champion. 215 people will make the money and the final table pays out like this:

All of this is remarkable considering the World Poker Tour and WSOP/GGPoker are throwing millions in marketing dollars and guarantees for their two big December festivals. For the second year in a row, the European Poker Tour has done nothing different to compete with those festivals, yet for the second year in a row EPT Prague has been a record breaker.
It would appear that EPT Prague remains the destination for European players put off by travelling too far and/or the price tag in the Bahamas.
All of this is bittersweet as the rumours are that this will be the last ever EPT Prague.
