Marius Kudzmanas wins the WSOPE Main Event

A third bracelet for the Lithuanian and an early lead in the Player of the Year, as records were broken in Prague.

A Lithuaian professional has taken down his third career in fine style, by winning the record-breaking WSOPE Main Event. 

Marius Kudzmanas defeated a field of 2,617 players and a stacked final table which included Chris Hunichen, Brandon Sheils and Thomas Eychenne, to take down the first WSOPE Main Event in Prague. 

He captured a first prize of €2 million for a career best score. He has previously won two online bracelets. 

"I felt like I'm the best player at the table," he said after the win. "I just needed to not get any big coolers and just play my game as best as possible."

An early POY lead

The tournament was not without controversy, as when play started, live hole cards were shown on the screens above the poker table. Something which was quickly rectified by the WSOP. 

The win narrowly puts Kudzmanas ahead of Shaun Deeb in the early going of the WSOP Player of the Year race. Kudzmanas will have around 1,345 points heading into Vegas, and Deeb, who got heads-up twice in Prague, currently has 1,268.
