The bettor showed A
Q :diamond:. Another player pointed out that he'd called with the nuts -- which he apparently didn't realize -- and the caller was assessed a one-round penalty.
Can someone explain what happened here? i mean, do you have to raise/go allin if you've got the nuts? 
is this a mainevent thing or what?

Eigentlich doch selbstverständlich, es gibt keinen Grund behind zu checken, ist gegen das Spielprinzip vom Poker und stellt im Endeffekt nichts anderes als Softplay da.
Das soetwas passiert ist doch schon öfters vorgekommen, ich weiß noch letztes Jahr hat n deutscher n Royal Flush behind gecheckt.

It´s not allowed to check the nuts behind. the TD or Floorman has to be called an then he has to discipline Player. For the first time it´s mostly a button round ban.
But if it happen more often, the player could be suspended from the Tournament.
This rule is to prevent softplay or teamplay.

Justin Smith has been sent to the rails from fabstinho's table. fabstinho: "That's a good thing, i played two hands with him and it's hard to know where I am at." Here how Smith went out:
Flop 3:c 8:h 4:c, villain checks, Smith bets and villain calls. Turn T:s, villain checks, Smith bets pretty big, villain immediately stands up of his table and lets out a big sigh, he walks around for a bit, sits back down and instantly goes all in, Smith called.
Villain had TT, Smith had 44. After the hand, villain pointed to Humberto Brenes and said " I learnt from you! Intellipoker!" 
Fabstinho whispers to me, "Thats such a level one fake."
A little while before that, there was also another pretty funny spot by another villain, against John Phan (also on fabstinho's table). Villain opens with a raise, John Phan re-raises and villain goes all-in for ~35k (175BB), Phan tanks and folds. Phan shows AK, villain had AA
Finally, there was a pretty sick cooler on MikaPaasonen's table, i only saw he river. On a board of K 6 x 7 K with 3 of the same suit, one player bets around 6.5k, and the player who had to made the call had less than 12k left in his stack. The guy tanked for some time and just called, and the original bettor flipped over K 7. The second player had 6 6

I think Marius2910 was already busto before the last break.
fabstinho lost a huge pot before the last break to the "Intellipoker" guy from my post above.
John Phan raised to 500, Villain called, fanstinho made it 2,100 from the SB with AK, Phan folded and villain called.
Flop K 5 5 rainbow. fabstinho c-bets 3,200, villain raises to 8,000, villain calls. Turn 7:h giving a flush draw, both check. River T:h, fabstinho checks, villain bets 2/3 pot and fabstinho called. Villain showed A:h 4:h.
fabstinho he didn't think villain had a 5 on the flop, and is just trying to rep trips. After the turn, he was sure villain didn't have a 5 because villain will always bet it if he had it.
fabstinho called the bet on the river because the backdoor flush was the only hand that beat him, and he had seen villain bluffing the river after giving up on the turn.

There was an interesting hand between Chris "Jesus" Ferguson and the Intellipoker guy. On the turn with the board showing 3 7 x J, Ferguson from the SB puts out a bet, the Intellipoker guy tanks for some time and asks "You show?". No response from Ferguson and villain mucks 9 9.
After the dealer pushes the chips over to Ferguson, Ferguson says "Ok, just for you" and flashes 3:s 7:s.
MikaPaasonen had been winning a lot of smallish pots to consistently increase his stack over the last 3 level. He did lose an all in flip against a really short player (less than 4k stack) with A:h Q:h vs 77.
