Welcome to Scamer-Strategie.
Spoiler
Damit wäre nun endgültig jegliches Vertrauen in Staking-Deals zerstört, danke!
Hello XXX,
Thank you for your email.
We understand your concern about this practice which by the way you explain it, can give room for a series of scamming and identity theft scenarios.
First and foremost, PokerStars does not encourage this sort of practices, under no circumstance are we related to this players that require your documents to have dealings with you and least of all do we believe it is ok for your to share vital pieces of information with anyone else.
We know that we have these requirements in place, however you have to know that as a registered business we have special requirements to meet, but this also means that we have responsibilities too.
Any document that you sent to us, must be stored on a secure location where it cannot be accessed from outside PokerStars, in this way we can guarantee that you will not suffer any scamming attempts through our site.
If anyone sends their documents to another player, they are exposed to this and other situations. People you meet in online forums do not have the same responsibilities as we do, and very likely, their computers don't have the level of protection that we have in place to protect your data.
This is very concerning to say the least and our official position is to avoid providing documents to any one that asks for them through an online forum or any other means.
Your information is private, and you should not trust anybody with it. Our site has legal obligations when it comes to requesting and keeping personal information from our customers and no one from a forum can say the same thing.
Please feel free to spread the message that PokerStars does not condone this activity and that although we ask that player make sure to know who they deal with, we mean to say that they should deal only with people they know and trust; ideally from their personal lives, friends, relatives, people that they know personally.
Ultimately, we cannot control what goes on in forums or chats or messenger, but we have always tried to inform players that the first line of defense against unwanted activity, hacking, scamming, and fraud, it’s them.
Each player is responsible for making sure that their information is kept safe under the vigilance of a responsible institution.
If you have any further questions please let us know.
Regards,
Luis O

>My PokerStars account name is XXX and I am tracked to you over one of your affiliates (PokerStrategy.com). A few months ago, pokerstrategy give into requests of lots of users and opened a so called 'staking' forum. From the very beginning the PokerStrategy-Managment distanced itself and PokerStrategy from any scamming/stealing and so on that may occur. Noticing that there are lots of scaming possibilites the users (especially the player giving the money) did start asking for several documents, like as phone number, copy (scan most likely) of documents like passport, address confirmation and so on. How serious a leak is this for the one giving away this data? Lets say, that I hand over this data to someone, so he is 'safe' and he than would contact you and inform you that his email account were hacked and inform you that he could verified that he actually is *me* (which he could, since he had my documents) ---> what could/would pokerstars do to avoid the transaction of my account to this very clever thief?
