Hey PokerStrategy.com, and welcome to the live ticker for World Poker Tour Prague!

My name is Jimmy, and earlier today I arrived here in Prague to give you all the updates from the World Poker Tour Prague that starts tomorrow, as well as the EPT Prague that starts next week (will be done in a separate live ticker later on).

I will do my best to make sure that you get all the details from all the PokerStrategists that are playing in the events, as well as other interesting players. There will of course as well be some pictures posted during the week!

  • The Event

:diamond: This is the first time that the WPT Circus makes a stop in Prague and the Czech Republic, when they bring the players to the Corinthia Hotel & Casino in Prague.

:diamond: The event is played in Corinthia Hotel & Casino. The buy in is set to €3,200+€300 and the event is a Re-entry event, wich means that the players can buy in again during Day 1B if they happen to bust out during Day 1A. There will also be plenty of side events during the week, with tournaments such as an €1,100 Deepstack Freezeout.

:diamond: In the Main Event we will see two starting days, Day 1A and Day 1B, and the final table will be played on Monday the 5th of december.

  • Day 1A:
  • :diamond: We are going to start the first day tomorrow at 13:00 GMT. The starting stack is 30k, with the blinds being 50/100 during the first level of play, and the blind levels being 60 minutes long during the two starting days, and 90 minutes there after.

    • Community Players:
    • :diamond: So far I only know of one player attending the event, wich is the Russian Promotion Winner Romazzsgk. I will do my best to catch up with him as soon as possible tomorrow (or on friday should he be playing Day 1B).

Are you playing yourself, or of you know of any members playing, please don't hesitate to drop a line in the thread and I'll do my best to find the players!

Also, should you have any questions to any of the players, please let me know and I'll do my best to try to find an answer for you!

Thats it for now, I will be back tomorrow afternoon as soon as the tournament starts, with the first updates of the event.

      Regards,
      //Grindithard

WPT Prague is underway!

Today players will be attempting to survive TEN levels of 60 minutes in the Corinthian Towers Hotel. Anyone who cannot make it through the day has the option to re-enter on Day 1B for an additional €3,500.

You need to be ice cool to take down a WPT tournament.

Sponsorship also helps.

Ready to shuffle up and deal!

I'm finally on site, a little late, wich I'm very sorry for.

Unfortunatelly there are still no player lists, so I'll have to use my face recognition skills to start with, but as soon as I get the lists during the afternoon I will try to find some more names I recognize.

So far there are 220 players registered, out of wich 216 remain. They are playing at level 2 with blinds of 75/150. The late registration will be open until end of level 4.

The playsers just went on a 15 minute break, and I will try to get the chip counts as soon as they are back.

I just ran in to VojtaR from PokerStrategy.com, who is here with another friend from the Polish community whos nickname I didn't get. VojtaR has around the starting stack of 30k, while his friend is down to 22k.

I also spotted the well known Swede Martin Jacobsson who is here with a bunch of swedish friends.

The game is on again, with new blinds of 100/200, and they will be playing for 60 minutes.

I've been watching VojtaR for a few minutes to try to catch a hand or two, but he seems to be chilling at the table not playing to many hands at the moment. He is seated two seats to the right of former EPT Barcelona winner Kent Lundmark.

I also just got informed that both PokerNoob and Philgruissem both are in the field, but haven't managed to spot them so far.

The field is now up to 229 players, with 223 remaining.

Just got the nickname of VojtaRs Polish friend, it's Sedrick. He seems to be up a couple of thousands to about 24k now.

VojtaR is still sitting back relaxing with around starting stack.

Still no sign of PokerNoob or philgruissem.

I just managed to find PokerNoob, he has lost some chips and is now sitting with 22k in front of him.

He also introduced me to the German community member Suppenkasper, who is a couple of tables away from PokerNoob. Suppenkasper is up to 41k at the moment.

A few minutes later I passed VojtaRs table, when the river was put up, the board was:

6:c 4:h 8:s - K:c - 8:c and it was checked to Vojtar from the player UTG.

VojtaR fired out a bet of 6 550, and the other player sank in to the tank for a few minutes before eventually folding.

VojtaR now up to 41k.

Internet is coming and going here in the pokerroom (as on every other pokertournament it seems), so if the updates are slow, you guys know why).

PokerNoob just lost a pretty big pot.

Preflop a guy in MP raised up to 525, with the blinds now being 100/200 with an ante of 25. PokerNoob in CO makes it 1,300 and it's folded to Abdel Cassis in SB that makes it 3,100. OR folds and its back to PokerNoob, who min 5-bets to 5,600. Cassis calls.

Flop 8:d J:d 4:d, and both players check
Turn K:d, and check-check again.
River 5:h, and this time Cassis fires out 10,400. PokerNoob thinks for a while, but eventually folds his hand.

He is now down to around 14-15k.

Table 1-10 just went on a dinner break for 75 minutes, while the rest of the tables takes 15 minutes break, and then play one more level before going for dinner.

Some of the players chip counts:

PokerNoob: 20k
VojtaR: 25k
Andy Frankenberger (WPT Player of the year, sitting at the same table as PokerNoob): 46k
Suppenkasper: 38k
Sedrick: 26k

Since all but 1 of the PS.com players just went on the dinnerbreak I will make sure to do the same to be able to cover as many of them as possible when they come back later on.

Back from the dinner break, and about to take another walk through the area to see if I can pick up some more interesting players.

Just saw philgruissen having dinner with PokerNoob, so I'll make sure to catch him and his stack as well as soon as they are back in 30 minutes.

The players who are still playing are at level 5, which is 150/300, with an ante of 25.

We have two winners from EPT Copenhagen - Anton Wigg & Michael Tureniec, on the same table, and Anton just took down a sizeable pot of around 6k when betting 3500 on the river when the board was: J:c 3:c 2:h - 9:s - Ks.

Tureniec folded.

VojtaR, PokerNoob, philgruissem and Suppenkasper are still on their dinner break, for 20 more minutes.

Dominik Nitsche is running well, and is up to over 47k at the moment.

The tournament management has just told us that we are no longer allowed to stand between the tables for to long before moving on, so it will be hard to catch any complete hands from flop to river, but I will do my best to give you as much informations about the hands played as possible.

The players that has been playing level 5 will now go on a 75 minute dinner break, while the players who have been eating are just arriving back to their seats to play their level 5. So, again we play 150/300/25.

VojtaR losing a smallish pot on the river. Both him and his opponent checked from the flop, and on the board K:c 7:s 4:h - A:c - J:h it is checked to VojtaR who bets 1k and gets called. His opponent shows A-9 and takes down the pot.

PokerNoob is losing a little bit of chips, while VojtaR is picking some up.

First, Pokernoobs hand.

MP fires out a bet of 800, and Tobias calls from SB.

Flop is Q:c 3:h A:h, and they both check.
Turn 2:h, and once again PokerNoob bets out 1k, but his opponent reraises to 2,5k and makes PokerNoob fold.

VojtaRs hand was against Kent Lundmark once again, and it starts with Lundmark betting 800 from CO, and VojtaR 3-betting from SB to 1925 and gets called.

Flop 3:d 2:s 4:d, VojtaR c-bets 2k and gets the pot.

VojtaR picked another pot up.

The board is 2:s T:d 4:d - 8:c, and it is checked to VojtaR who fires out 3575 in to the pot of roughly 6k. His opponent folds pretty quickly, and VojtaR is now up to around 33k.

PokerNoob is down a little bit more to around 16k.
