the tutor raises on the turn with A10s. I was wondering why you would raise this bet, instead of folding, for instance, in the face of a potential flush from the opponent. Pocket clubs would mean he had a flush as of the turn, and a single pocket club could yet become a flush as of the river. As there is no chance of the player making a flush (with A10diamonds if i remember correct), it seems to be a dangerous play.

Can I have anyones thoughts on this? I haven't actually crunched the numbers on this, its just my perceptions and (limited) experience speaking.

Did you remember to turn on the sound? The speaker explains the reason for the raise. Essentially you do it for protection especially against flush draws.

But listen closely to the speaker and then I'm sure you'll get a better understanding of it. It should also be in accordance with the article in which it is presented. It's been a while since I played FLHE, so I don't remember all the standards anymore.

You want them to call you if they only have a single club. In that case there is only a (roughly) 22% chance they will actually get the club on the river to complete their flush so you will make money over time if this is all they have.
There is no reason to expect them to have two clubs here, they easily could but as it says in the demonstration there are many other hands he could be holding here that he'll call with which have not got a great chance of winning.
