Coaching: Fixed-Limit [Advanced] with datsmahname

Hi,

enjoyed your Coaching very much yesterday.

Unfortunately I lost my Internet connection so i didn't catch the answer to one question .

Could you please explain short the advantage using Agression Frequeny compared to Agression Factor ?

I am still using Factor because I simply can't interpret the Frequency Values. Could you gibve some Values for Flop/Turn/River / total considered as "good" ?

Frequency includes checks and there shouyld be not depending on VPIP I assume ?

Fermina, thx for posting this. Here are some questions to consider:

• A4c is often a -EV raise from this position. Do you always raise this now? How do you justify your decision? Consider playing A8s+ as a default.
• When you bet the flop, how did you decide that this play was correct? what do you expect to happen when you bet? what do you expect to happen if you had checked? Are you bluffing or betting for value? If you had been raised once how would you evaluate the strength of your ace-high?
• Ask these same questions on the turn. When you get raised, what lead you to decide to call? Were you drawing on your outs or showing down ace high?
• On the river you improve to a weak boat. This tends to beat every bluff but none of the value bets in your opponents range. How often does your opponent need to be bluffing when he raises the turn for us to call down with improvement? How likely are we to improve?
• Finally, at what point(s) in the hand did your opponent make a mistake? Exactly how much does this mistake cost him in the long term? We should answer these same questions for our own mistakes.

Hey And3Street, cheers. I think my most profitable game in the long term will tend to be the one I enjoy playing. It makes the hard work easier.

jon011, common question. First we want to look at a big sample. Probably 30k hands. At that point winning 2BB/100 (or 4bb/100) is quite good. The player is extremely likely to be a proven winner and they've put in some work. If you work very hard and search for good spots I bet some really excellent players could do 4BB/100 even today online. Most importantly, these answers are not barriers. Don't be satisfied ever if you happen to reach either one because you're not safe. Thousands of people are working to catch you.

Hi Fasteddie70, both are descriptive statistics (they describe a set of data).

• Consider FlopAgg% (freq.) describes the frequency that our opponent has played aggressively (betting/raising) when given the option. This makes it senstive to VPIP because the hands he chooses to play aggressively will tend to be weaker as VPIP increases.
• FlopAgg.Factor describes the ratio between how often our opponent bets/raises vs. calls/folds. This stat still varies with VPIP just like AGG% but its also sensitive to postflop looseness. A player who raises bottom pair is quite aggressive, but if he never folds the flop then his AF will be quite low for the flop. A player who only raises top pair +, but otherwise folds quite regularly will have a very high AF but he's actually raising quite tight.
• Basically, I like AGG% because its not confounded by postflop looseness.

Hi Yohan, I've never been given specific details on which program to use. Join.me has been very convenient.

Before using join.me, Terrorblade simply provided the site name and table names.

If you are having trouble with join.me you could always try accessing the poker site directly and observing the tables.

The visual stuff works. The sound does not. I know for sure I'm not the only one having these problems. My computer is old, but not too old. I have no problems at all elsewhere except for one and only one thing in PT4, which is naturally blamed by them on my computer, industry standard. Join.me is perhaps convenient when it works, but it's probably not very good under the hood. It is, after all, free.

The sound only goes through the PS coaching player. join.me is only visual.

That sound thing....

There is obviously something fishy with the PS coaching player then. Ironically, it seems like it is the visual part of it, that causes the problems. When I use the following combination, it works;

1.) PS coaching player in internet explorer!!!!!!
2.) Join.me in Google
3.) Important; IE minimized.

It looks like the PS coaching player is doing some sort of screen sharing too, which is a total overkill for transmission of textual Q&A.

I am happier now, but it is a little annoying. If I ask a Q in PS coaching player, then the sound will die on me. At any rate, it's not your problem to fix dats :). I'm just telling you in case somebody else with XP asks you.

Hey Sendra, currently they aren't available. Basically to really make it useful and valuable for everyone I would need to sink some more time into it.

Recently I've started working on some even more ambitious ideas for preflop and a really interesting strat concept for postflop. Both are in infancy. I plan to work on them.

The most recent podcast should give anyone enough of a hands on guideline for making their own.
