i haven't played many NL HUSNGs, so i don't really know about those.
in FL HUSNGs i have about 9% ROI, on lower stakes vs really bad players you could probably reach 10-15% ROI if you're good (especially if you play on a 'slow' site, so you get more hands/sng on average).
another consideration is that at FL, you can't play more than 2 tables of hu (or at max 3, if all 3 are vs the same guy. 3 tabling hu vs 3 different villains is INSANE) at the same time, while at NL i hear 4-6 is relatively easy to manage.
Agreed. I've tried 2 tabling HU SNGs against different villains. To put it mildly, this is a lot of information...
In LHE HU compared to 6-max I'd guess we're making 3x as many decisions and find ourselves in marginal spots more than twice as often. Its a great way to stretch your brain a little and improve your bandwidth so to speak. Anyways, i digress

I do offer private coaching which includes hand and session reviews, but HUSNG's are not my specialty. Of course we could identify and work on leaks, but feel free to consider your options.

To answer your question directly, a large part of 'The Intelligent Poker Player' by Phil Newell is about head's up limit holdem. However it is very advanced, concentrating on game theory and the play of computers. I would say its really intended for $10/20+.
I think if you asked a bunch of experienced FL Pros they would tell you its the wrong game to learn now, as there is so little action. If you look in the lobby on Stars, there are a very large number of players sitting looking for HUHU action.
These days in order to get good action I play a wide variety of stakes and games. I'll play 2/4+ full ring, short handed and head's up (max 5/T at HUHU and normally lower). That way I can normally get some decent action in a shrinking pool of fish. The other way is to play across a lot of sites (I have only just had time to keep my SN on Stars recently so not an option).
Personally if I was going into playing limit now I'd start with one game - probably shorthanded where the most action is - and when that is mastered bring in other games like Head's Up (which will improve short handed play).
I agree 100% with the advice about playing HUSNGs below 2/4, the rake is crippling.
I think I'll get the "Intelligent Poker Player" Book. I am really interested in the Theory part of Poker. And it supposed to make GTO accessible to the public, I'll see where it takes me; even though I am a micro stakes player and won't need it at all.
Right now I'm playing 6max and 4max games, lowest limits. Enjoy the action. I wanted to learn HUHU to become a really good player rather than win money; so I guess lack of action and lots of regs will be OK for me. Playing against regs improves your game right.
And yes, playing 6max is a very good suggestion. Playing lots of 6max has improve my overall post-flop game. And forced me to understand the pre-flop better.
Playing NL or SNG I don't think I would have improved this much.

What is a really good book for Limit. Is Stox-traders book good? I want a book that addresses the underlying theory rather than deceptive plays.
The classic limit theory text is the Ed Miller small stakes book:
For six max, its StoxTrader. These books are quite old now. The Miller book is really for live poker where there are many callers whereas Stoxtrader deals with the situation where you are often head's up post flop. Stoxtrader's book is full of charts of the performance of various hands.
These are the classic theory books (along with The Theory of Poker I guess).
There isn't a lot out there really when it comes to Limit books. Byron Jacob's Think Like a Poker Pro is very readable and has good analysis on turn decisions, but it isn't an overall theory book per se. I think you could learn a fair bit about the basics of 6 max from Boomer's videos on here as well.
