Hi guys,
I wanted to ask you the following questions regarding fixed limit.
1. If I am playing against only one other person and he checks on the flop, i.e. I am in position, and also he was the pre-flop aggressor, he raised pre-flop, when should I show aggression. For example, if I have Q3, and the flop is Q95, should I bet? What if I have J8, should I then bet? What about if he bets, should I reraise if I have the Q3 – I think here I should just call, because he shows strength already through the pre-flop raise and the 3 kicker isn’t good enough for a reraise, but what if I have an AQ?
2. Similar to the situations above, but what if there is more than one other opponent I am playing against? How should my strategy be changing? Can you provide an example?
3. In regards to playing on the river, what should I be taking into account when deciding to bet or just check given my opponent checked. I understand I am making this very generic, but suppose I am playing against one opponent. I am in position and have top pair, say I have the Q3 mentioned above, flop is Q95, turn is K and river is 7. If my opponent checks, how should I go about thinking of whether it is worthwhile to bet again on the river? What about cases other than this one? Can you provide a probabilistic approach to such a situation.
Thanks in advance!
