Vote for your favourite - click here!

If you have the wit to produce +EV comics like Bobby Crosby you could win $100 for making the community laugh with your creation.

The prizes

1st: $100
2nd: $70
3rd: $50
Money paid to user's Tell-a-Friend account.

In addition, +EV author Bobby Crosby will pick one comic that he likes the best (not necessarily the winner of 1st place) and send the author a signed copy of the +EV book.

How do I take part?

Simply edit existing +EV comics (or create your own if you have the skills!) with your own funny script and post them here before October 27.

We'll run a week-long poll from October 28 - November 03 where the community will vote for their favourite strip. You can make as many as you want, but only one will be considered in voting so make sure you clearly mark your submission.

NOTE: in the case of multiple communities running this promotion, users can only compete in one community promotion.

How do I make a comic?

1. Browse our +EV comics forum archive to find a suitable comic.

2. Save the image, and open it in Paint or another image editing software. Remove the text from the speech bubbles and insert your own script.

2 (alt). You can paste the image into PowerPoint and use Autoshapes speech bubbles for further customisation

3. Save the image once you're satisfied

4. Host the image on an image hosting site such as Imgur

5. Post it in this thread using the BBcode tags Imgur provides, or the insert image button in the toolbar above your post.

Examples

Here are a couple of examples made by myself and Marta:

Hello kiromanAAKK!

you can do it however you want - if you're better at drawing on the paper, go ahead - draw, scan and upload. If you feel confident using a PC program, this is fine as well.

Looking forward to seeing your work!

Cheers. :)

Well, I cannot guarantee to be able to make you appreciate my works as Im nothing like an expert in this matter and also I really cannot bear the embarrassment so, it will unlikely to see me post ridiculous stuff here

but, just for the peace of mind, any recommended (or suggested) program and Im not in the industry? Thank you! :)

kiromanAAKK, no worries - this promo should be FUN in the first place, so don't be too concerned! Also, everyone here is friendly, so I doubt you'd have to fight negative comments (if that happened though, I would be your shield!). :)

Regarding the graphic tools - I'm not an expert either but some users would probably use Photoshop, some less advanced - Paint. Maybe others can give more ideas.

Hey, constructive criticism is always welcome if you for example think this promo could have been better. Feel free to write a feedback and we'll get back to you. Your post was not exactly the above, thus got edited /Marta
