Do you guys use timing tells at all?

i play it the same, i can't fold this
don't know what you mean with timing tells, guess i don't use them.

What I mean by timing tell is judging your opponents reaction time. In this hand I could sense his reaction to the river card because it took him a half second longer on this street to check, like his first instinct was to bet his flush, but then decided to go for the check-raise. I was just wondering whether it pays to actually use this kind of tell, since of course it is far from reliable.

btw, i went against my instincts here, so I didn't make use of the timing tell...

I hardly ever use timing tells and i play the same limit as you do.

I play it the same way. I don't think timing tells are reliable, because you don't know what the other person is doing, sometimes I'm busy with something else so I might need a long time, does that mean I'm thinking or something? Not necessarily.

Also your mind plays tricks with you here. I sometimes have the same feeling that I know what he has, and then get angry when I lose :P But on the other hand, when you think you know what he has and he's bluffing you will forget it quickly.

Online tells don't work most of the times, if he's multitabling.

Right, most of the time they don't, but sometimes, especially with these half-second ones I just think that ag fdkfdkf fdfs sd arrrgh.... Maybe Yoghi is right though, my mind must be playing tricks on me

I have those things quite often aswell. But I also forget the times when I'm wrong, so it looks like you're always right, but that's not the case :P

I'm gonna start keeping statistics on these things to determine it once and for all!

Haha, that's impossible, your mind is good at playing tricks with you ^^

Well unless you have something to measure your brain activity ofc.

You mean like this? This is standard equipment for me when I play, you don't use it?

Not yet, been thinking about buying it though.
