Is the Flopraise for information ok?

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A, 5.
2 folds, Hero calls, 4 folds, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (3 SB) 5, 9, K (3 players)
SB bets, BB folds, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) A (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

River: (6.50 BB) J (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB raises, Hero 3-bets, SB calls.

Final Pot: 12.50 BB

Raising for information is something you should virtually never do - the problem is that you really don't get the information you need.

In your case, you should just fold the flop. The pot is very small and you are behind most of the times.


I posted this hand in the german forum also and got the answers call flop Raise Turn improved and Cap Flop. After I posted your comment there they asked for an explanation, why you would fold here with 14 outs. Here is the link:

you miss the suites in this hand :) If you have the flush draw as well you raise here for value, not for information, and that is the same reason why you should cap the flop ^^

use (Format: TwoPlusTwo) when you convert please, so we can see suits and have an idea of what's going on :P


Seems to be an error, posted the same in the german forum and there the suits are visible.
