Weird line on the river from villain, not sure if I should call here, against an ovbious passive player.

Preflop: Hero is SB with A 7
2 folds, CO raises, BTN folds, Hero 3-bets, BB calls, CO calls

Flop: (9 SB) 6 8 6 (3 players)
Hero bets, BB folds, CO raises, Hero calls

Turn: (6.5 BB) 6 (2 players)
Hero checks, CO checks

River: (6.5 BB) 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets, Hero calls

I'm not going to fold as you didnt do. The only Hand he can really represent is 97 but we have to discount off some of those as he's just supposed to openraise 97s. Flushdraw is possible and now on the River he tries to represent a straight without thinking that he doesnt actually represent enough combos. He should always bet with a pair. raise flop and check turn is pointless. Maybe he did raise with a random hand just to see the river cheaply. i don't know but folding would be a big mistake given 1:8,5 and the fact he should have a lot of bluffs in his range. well played!
