Cap flop IP TPMK

While i think this spot depends a lot on the reads you have on the SB player but you have a few options here since you are in position.

If he is on the passive side i think i would raise and just call-down versus his donk-3bet and play it as way ahead/behind spot since you could be ahead but there are some 2 pair or set combos that beat you.

If he is aggressive and you think his range is draw heavy you can either cap the flop as you did and continue betting/calling. Another option is to just call his flop 3bet and then re-raise non club turn where his equity is lower so he is putting 2 big bets in the pot behind.

I am never raising flop donks heads-up. I might raise (once) 3-ways (not here though since the BB has already called and KT is too weak); then it is just a call-down.

The idea of putting in more action on the flop in order to take a cheap line (check-back) on later streets is valid, but it is exploitable. You might end up paying more to see showdown instead of less (which is what happened here). It is rather routine for me to bet/3-bet TPDK at the micros because a flop raise is such a sign of a mediocre hand.
