Hi john

The turn is a raise for me.

The SB bet could be just be a draw or a worse Ax hand and you want to get as much value as possible from drawing or worse hands.

As played I think you have to check/call on the river as the pot is offering 17:1, so even though the river is a horrible card and you're probably beaten, you have to call with top pair 2nd best kicker.

One question about this hand.

Why not betting out on the flop because you raised before the flop?
Is that because the number of players on the flop is that big?

Otherwise, only conti-betting with overcards against max. 2 opponents?

Thanks.

Yes WPTRay.. with this number of opponents you have to consider you're against a better hand on the flop.

We bet for value and / or protection. Your bet in this scenario will likely not help protect your hand as you will likely get multiple callers in this sized pot on the flop + your out of position so you don't know what action might come, and there is no value aspect to your bet if you are behind.

Against 2 opponents you have a much higher chance to be holding the best hand, so you have a value component to your bet, and you want to protect your hand against a weaker hand drawing out on you.

So, yes, c-betting against a maximum of two opponents is optimal.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the clear explanation :)

I'm from the Dutch forum and studying FL at the moment.
Because I want to learn I will study a lot of hands in the Hand-sections, on the Dutch forum as well.

So a lot of questions will rise for me..
