Preflop: Hero is BB with 8 Q
2 folds, CO calls, 2 folds, Hero checks

Flop: (2.4 SB) K 5 8 (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls

Turn: (2.2 BB) Q (2 players)
Hero bets, CO raises, Hero 3-bets, CO caps, Hero calls

River: (10.2 BB) Q (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls

Results: 12.2 BB pot (0.3 BB rake)
Final Board: K 5 8 Q Q
Hero showed 8 Q

this was against a poor player. again im unsure of river. I do believe that he may have the chance of regognizing when I 3bet turn Q and river gives a Q.. Hes not as smart as the opponent in the J9s hand I just posted.. But even poor 56/9/9 agg% 33 players can accidentally play correct sometimes.

So,whats the reason for not check-raising river?

x/r river, if he 3-bets cry, call and get shown KQ or KK

If it's boat over boat and you don't lose money in Holdem you're doing something wrong

Vs a guy who limps preflop Im pretty confident in river c/r/cap, I think he would still overplay any boat and KK is not there with the same frequency as 55,88.Then there is also Q5 and bad players overplay even some other hands sometimes in this spot...like AdQd,AA. Also you just need 50% with your cap.

I'm very confuse by the answers here ?(.

I wouldn't 3bet turn without having a good read on CO since the pot is unraised although it might work against very poor player in micros, I don't see this line ever working few stakes higher.

Oh well...

I obvioulsy was aware about the FL section, that doesn't change my confusion about willing to put 8.5BB postflop in 1.2BB pot on the flop even if we are indeed at the top of our range on that board.

You are right. It is strange that nobody has even mentioned the turn 3-bet. It is thin (but not by Ava's standards , perhaps that's why).

Why would turn 3bet with 2 pair be wierd. He will take this line with Kx way too often not to mention worse 2 pair or else.

Not weird at all. Just quite thin, and not certainly totally obvious, which is why it is strange that nobody (me included) mentions it in comments. If he raises turn with a few Kx and the occasional draw, then it becomes easy. But if he doesn't, then we are a little behind. I'd still 3-bet versus unknown.

You assume that, but you have no clue. Sure it's likely that he will never fold Kx but against your range he should probably fold when you 3bet and you don't know if he's actually going to raise Kx and when it gets capped you're pretty much dead against anything which isn't massivly overplayed (imo).

Thus far, the only read we have is that the guy is passive (low AFq).

I will not say that 3betting is horrible, but like YohanN7 pointed out, it's quite thin. And when it get capped on the turn even with the "improvement" on the river, you should never win that pot if it's get capped again on the river unless your opponent is braindead.

For me its a nobrainer 3bet on the Turn. Just bet/call is too weak. He may raise with every single King so it would be a mistake not to 3bet and on the River it depends on your opponent. Some being aggressive they may even bet again with a busted 2pair. Basically i like your donkbet on the River since he'll be raising again with a small set anyways but it's really likely that he checks back with his busted Kx 2pair. But when you donk, he'll call 100% of the time. In a different Spot i'd be rather tempted to checkraise but in this situation i like the donkbet.
