This is another example of a common spot for me where I have called down a very probable Ace overpair to my QQ or KK. Poker Strategy advises a c/c approach but I continually find myself paying to the river with all instincts telling me I shouldn't still be in the pot. Would a c/r on the flop with fold to 3 bet not be a better option against a solid player?

Why do you give up the initiative in 3bet pot on that board?
I would bet and go on from there. With C/C move ur telling him u dont have an ace and he can valuetown you all the way.

Yes definatelly bet here.You are often ahead and you should protect. Being OOP playing cc is so very weak and exploitable.Flop is b/c for me and probably going at least till the river

Hi teameltaco,

I would bet this flop as well. As already said you almost show him you hand with your check. Against a raise you are sometimes against an ace but often enough against a draw as well so I would calldown in this case.

A turnraise would be ugly and if CO folded to your flopbet and BU is the raiser I think about as fold.

As played you are in a very difficult position.
He may bet the flop with a draw but won't bet it on the turn that often anymore as he has to read you on a small pocketpair which is going to call him down.
I almost tend to fold the turn as I don't see him betting enough worse hands anymore. Tx is unlikely and smaller pocketpairs as well. Ax is probably too often in his hand so a fold should be best.
