TPWK scary board

The thought behind checking back turn was that my hand was weak and any bet gives a flush draw profitable odds to call and makes a pot bigger when my hand is possibly not the best hand. I can't see a worse hand calling the river card also. But given the tendency of my opponents is not betting the turn still a big mistake? Or is it marginal is your opinion?

I would bet this turn and maybe the river as well depending on the card. The reason is that you describe your opponent as passive calling station so in case he raises somewhere we can be pretty sure we are not folding the best hand. After his flop call he has a bunch of one card flush draws we want to gather value from, some weak aces as well as random 8x and 5x hands. So I'd bet the turn and cb this river.

Thinking like that is not the best and actually is quite bad in FL. Sure your hand is not superstrong but vs bad limping player who c/c flop its pretty strong,especially since turncard is quite nice. On this flop he will call any one heart hand,pair or even somegutshots and whatnots. These are way more likely than made flushes or higher Ax(which would raise preflop most of the time)Therefore you are loosing value by not betting vs all these hands.They do indeed have the right odds to continue (therefore you cannot protect yourself) but you gain value since you will win most times. And if river is an ugly card(like heart) you can still very often just check behind and be in the same spot as if you were checking back turn and then be left with a hard decition on the river.
And with the quick read you have there you can make a pretty good b/f on the turn since I dont see such player making c/c c/r as bluff.

Dawnfall is right on his clarification. On this monotone boards you should almost always bet with any pair because his onecard flushdraw holdings are too likely and let's say you have a pocketpair with no flushdraw you could play bet/fold on the Turn. Just with a hand like 44 with a Flushdraw where you want to realize your flushdraw equity you could consider checking back and calling but with topair and even KJ you have an easy bet against his draws and what you want the most is value against weaker pairs that could pay you off on each street.
