So some background to this....
I only normally play Full ring as I usually find shorthanded to be a bit too much of a frenetic rollercoaster. And yes, I know that Avataren insists that FR is enough to bore him to death but I guess it's what you're used to...
Anyway, I found myself in a game where the other players were all extremely loose passive and were calling with absolutely anything, often without connecting with the board.
The one exception being the SB who was the complete opposite, extremely tight and very easy to read.
But all of that notwithstanding, was I being far too loose raising with A4o in UTG? And on the turn with that flush appearing, my plan was to call a raise with a view to just check call the river.
But when the river came the Ace, I assumed that they could easily have KJ, QJ, JT etc so went for one more bet. And I guessed that if they had AJ then they would have raised on the turn.
But OTR should I have checked and then just called, as anyone with a better ace is not going to fold and may have raised me etc?
As I say, after being at this table for about 20 minutes, I definitely saw my raising range widen immensely. But was I being too loose I wonder...
Thank you!
Charlie
