Final Board: 6 6 7 K A
MP1 showed 7 7 and won $4.38 ($2.13 net)
Hero mucked A K and lost (-$2.25 net)

my range for villain preflop was fairly wide as i hadn't played many hands against him so i 3 bet for value

i put villain on a range of AK,AQ,22+, some straigh and flush draws after calling on flop when turn bet was called i put him on 22+, AK and some flush and straight draws so i bet turn to get value from draws, on reflection i think mayby my turn bet could have been slightly smaller although i wanted draws to pay

river i check as most hands i beat probably would not call and didnt want to get raised

Hi Johny,

Preflop: Looks fine. We are deep enough where villain will most likely call very wide.

Flop/turn: looks fine

River: If he raises the river we are always beat so I wouldn't be worried if that happened.

The only question would be if we can get value from anything.

His range for calling flop/turn is something like 88-JJ (maybe QQ), some 89s, some slowplayed flushes, 77, 66 and that's pretty much it.

Since both the K and A came down it's hard to get value from much because most pairs fold so your check is fine. If the river would be a 2h I'd bet the river 1/2>
