BTN vs. SB

It would be nice if you give your own though process as well. This way you get most likely better feedback. Especially in this hand it’s good to know what kind of reads or stats you have on him.

We are playing on the BTN and I expect the BB could 3bet a lot against a BTN steal. I would consider to 4bet for value against an unknown and try to get it in. if he’s tight you line is most likely better, but then you need to be sure he can 3 barrel with less than JJ on the river to make a river call profitable. Especially the Q could be a scare card for him for all his mid pocket pairs in his range.

I think its a fold on the river. In nl5 its rare to find someone who 3barrels bluff in a 3bet pot. So if thats the case he is probably a big fish and you couldve 4betted JJ for value preflop.

So in my opinion you either way 4bet JJ because you think hes a weak player or fold the river cbet assuming hes a reg

Flop and turn calls are probably ok but I'm not completely sure about the river.
Basically I think you should fold many of your draws and overcards OTT and you would continue only with pocket paris and sets. That means that JJ is one of your best hands and maybe you have to call it to defend correctly. But on the other hand I think villain will not 3bet and 3barrel with a weaker hand so you could make an exploitative fold.

Note that he is steadily increasing the bet size. This is usually wrong, but in this situation, it is perfect play by him (given what he actually had). On the flop (that he loves), he's afraid to lose you. On turn (that he loves), he's still afraid to lose you, but you have now showed some interest, thus he increases the size. On river (that he loves most of all) he prays that you hit the Q (you don't have QQ) and makes it fairly large.

He'd never do (all of) the above with 88-TT. He might do it with air, but which NL5 player has the balls to do it?

You might have to call from a game theory POV. (I think you may be close to being capped at JJ.) But I'd go with the very readable betting pattern of above and comfortably fold.

as played but fold river. keep it simple on this stakes- this is what I'm trying to do no because many spots like this cost me a lots of my money

4b is fine from these positions preflop.
River is definitely a fold here.
He will not bet AK 3rd time...
