I don't think he bets into two people on turn with nothing as he knows both can easily check Top Pair on Flop (Especially on partypoker) I think this large bet looks like an attempt to build the pot on river against the other bigstack, thus I give him a strong range and fold. I don't put him on a draw so often.
If the bet had been smaller I may have talked myself into a call and reevaluate river line. This line looks pretty weak for a shortstacker on the turn though so may not be advisable.

thats a reason to check....
obviously every line has downsides
a bet just lays your hand face up, thats the downside of a bet
against some opponents you should bet, sometimes you should check....it depends
