Hello everyone!

How do I play that flop? He calls vs UTG, and my squeeze after. I don't have almost any info on the guy, only 35 hands, 25/12/0.0. I usually put villains who play like this in such spots, on this default range: 99-QQ, AK. But when he 2bets me on that flop I can assume he doesn't hold AK. So, how do I react? Is it more profitable to fold/call/shove? If I call, I suppose he will bet any turn, do I call that too? What's the best line here?

Thank you!

A more honest range for your average weaktight reg who would flat 2 flat 3 there is any pocket pair they didn't want to 3bet with. Basically 22-JJ for some villains and 22-KK for others. There are also some really silly hands like JTs in his range here.

Many of these players will play 22-99 the same way and make no distinction between the sizing of the pair.

The flop bet is a great sizing and the minraise lets you call and re-evaluate based on the villain's streets. A minraise on that flop is more commonly an old style "information raise" to "find out where he is in the pot" with any pair that missed.

I would call IP and decide on the turn. I find it incredibly difficult to get away from people who pay (in this example) 13% of their stack to set mine out of position as it is hard to rationally credit what they are doing. I'm probably ending up broke in this hand, but doing so passively in order not isolate 100% against sets.

I like to call and see a turn here. It may not be always good, but still I prefer it.

it feels too weak to just fold on the flop.

I would call one street.

I would call. With KK in this spot, I would want to see the turn. The min raise is a bit strange, but I'd still call here.

Some guys use min-raise to mask their hand strenght, some guys are just nuts and some guys do it with a draw. Hard to tell, and as we have position here I would be tempted to call and see what happens on turn. If you had more hands versus this guy and he would still have low aggression, this should be a fold.

if he minR set here he is too bad. ... Also is bad in general to call sqz for setmine only , esp 44 ... ..

As from ranges --
the bad news are that if CO is bad he has more sets/twopairs than us. (T9,99,TT , less 44 - not many regs calling vs early in 2016)

given ur favourite to be raised from others 1/3 size the only option is call flop here.. and proceed x/calling @ least until river...

Keep ur sizings and time tells up to date ...
1)if he bets 2/3 in turn and shove river with absolutely no basic tanking we can safe fold..
2)if he bets 1/2 turn and tank bets river something silly ( 1/2 , 60% , 66% ) we can bluff catch...
note: Also be careful for cards that complete str8's , cause they will not only give him str8 hands but also two pairs ...
like TJ for exmple.

Agree with Krasops.
*I call* is just an opinion -- *I fold if he is tight* is a qualified opinion. We need a thought process that can be used in future hands -- one that includes ranges, relative hand strength, default lines, reads. Otherwise you might as well be a bot...

I don't have almost any info on the guy, only 35 hands, 25/12/0.0.

The information that is available has been supplied - and the result of the analysis is "more information required".

So defaulting back to our standard play against unknown villains in this spot is correct. Complaining that it isn't an informed decision is just weird as the information was that there wasn't any information :f_biggrin:
