$0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (8 handed)

Known players:
CO (Hero) = ($10.00)
BU = ($10.00)
SB = ($7.90)
BB = ($19.25)
UTG2 = ($3.65)
MP1 = ($12.02)
MP2 = ($10.00)
MP3 = ($8.95) (38/15 over 39 hands)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 5 :heart:, A :club:.
3 folds, MP3 calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.40, 3 folds, MP3 calls $0.30.

Flop: ($0.95) 4 :heart:, A :diamond:, Q :spade: (2 players)
MP3 checks, Hero bets $0.60, MP3 calls $0.60.

Turn: ($2.15) 8 :club: (2 players)
MP3 checks, Hero checks.

River: ($2.15) 2 :diamond: (2 players)
MP3 checks, Hero bets $1.34, MP3 calls $1.34.

Final Pot: $4.83.

My evaluation of the hand was that I played it either too aggressively, or too passively. If my weak kicker was worth value betting, I think I should have bet 2/3 pot on all three streets, not just two. If it wasn't, I actually like my line: C-betting, then betting when it's clear my opponent doesn't have a hand worth attacking with. What should I have done here?

Howdy,

Isolation preflop is doable if he can limp/fold or gives up postflop easily, although I wouldn't mind waiting for some suited hand or Ax w/ better kicker. Tbh I like isoraising a lot as players often just give up so easily it's like printing money. Just notice villains who are not giving up enough and avoid marginal isoraises against them.

As played I think we can't get 3 streets of value w/ A5o, so I like your line overall. I think he'd bet good Aces himself by River and we can easily b/f it as he can still call w/ Qx.

Good luck!
