Villain loose passive. Ok to bet the turn here on the scare card? I think probably best not to here since he'll likely call regardless and I won't really have a good idea of his hand on the river.

Party, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 8 Players

Hero (MP3): $2.71 (135.5 bb)
MP1: $1.14 (57 bb)
CO: $2 (100 bb)
BB: $0.98 (49 bb)
MP2: $2.60 (130 bb)
UTG+2: $1.73 (86.5 bb)
SB: $2.63 (131.5 bb)
BTN: $2.29 (114.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 8 8
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.08, 3 folds, BB calls $0.06

Flop: ($0.17) J 7 4 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.11, BB calls $0.11

Turn: ($0.39) A (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.25, BB raises to $0.79 and is all-in, Hero folds

Results:

Spoiler

$0.89 pot ($0.04 rake)
Final Board: J 7 4 A
Hero mucked 8 8 and lost (-$0.44 net)
BB mucked and won $0.85 ($0.41 net)

Hi Knyght,

Preflop: looks fine

Flop: Thin cbet for value/protection is fine.

Turn: Considering villain is short and can ck/ship the turn or river here I don't like our bet. Plus the value we can get now is very thin because he may fold 3rd pair.

So I'd check back river and go from there (we can bluffcatch based on his bet size).
