MP1: $26.02 (104.1 bb)
MP2: $25 (100 bb)
MP3: $28 (112 bb)
CO: $20.27 (81.1 bb)
BTN: $25 (100 bb) (VPIP: 14, PFR: 11, 3B: 3, AF: 2.1, Hands: 533)
SB: $25.10 (100.4 bb)
Hero (BB): $25 (100 bb)
UTG+2: $21 (84 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5 7
3 folds, MP3 raises to $0.50, CO folds, BTN calls $0.50, SB folds, Hero calls $0.25

Flop: ($1.60) 7 5 J (3 players)
Hero bets $1, MP3 calls $1, BTN raises to $3, Hero calls $2, MP3 folds

Turn: ($8.60) 4 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $4.10, Hero calls $4.10

River: ($16.80) Q (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $5.70, Hero calls $5.70

I would have been more inclined to fold if I had {J7s} or something since {55} is a set, and yes he could have {JJ} in his combo too. But with {57s} just felt like I had to make the flop call. I don't know about the turn call though. Thoughts?

Results:

Spoiler

$28.20 pot ($1.27 rake)
Final Board: 7 5 J 4 Q
BTN showed 5 5 and won $26.93 ($13.63 net)
Hero mucked 5 7 and lost (-$13.30 net)

Hi

Flop: Against loose/aggressive opposition, check-raise is probably best (Aim to play for stacks which is like 3+ streets of value). 2p should be strong enough to play for stacks and you can expect to get paid off by stuff like AJ or QQ really often.

If the opponents are not so call-happy or aggro, leading is better (aim to play for 3 streets of value)

Flop call is standard. Question is whether we can fold at any point in time. BU could have JJ sometimes for sure. We block 4 combos of 55/77 when we have 57s ourselves. He could have 68s. 89s/T9s/T8s all missed, along with some backdoor heart draws.

Does he bluff often enough to have all these hands? I think the gutshots would often call the Flop lead when given such good odds. This is also NL25 FR where I think people are just playing much more passively than they should.

Could I fold the Turn? I guess not.
I would fold the River, but this guy makes it so enticing to call with the 33% pot bet. It's certainly very close for sure and I wouldn't be surprised if folding was much better than calling.
