I always feel tempted to allow myself 'one position earlier' when the hand I have is suited. So, e.g. if I have A,J and I am in MP3 I will fold as per SHC. But if it's A,Js, I will often raise.

In my limited experience, however, the additional equity from it being suited is outweighed by the increased likelihood of a better, dominating hand waiting to ambush you from LP or the blinds. So I try to restrain myself these days...
