$0.25/$0.5 No-Limit Hold'em (7 handed)

Known players:

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A:h, A:d.
Hero raises to $2.00, MP2 calls $2.00, 4 folds, BB calls $1.50.

Flop: ($6.25) 2:c, 9:s, 8:c (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $5.00, MP2 folds, BB raises to $10.00, Hero calls $5.00.

Turn: ($26.25) 3:d (2 players)
BB bets $18.50, Hero calls $18.50.

River: ($63.25) Q:d (2 players)
BB bets $23.00(All-In), Hero calls $19.50(All-In).

My toughs were to let villain hang himself if he has overpair.

But would an overpair raise me on the flop? TT, JJ?
AK surely wouldn't bet the turn after missing.

So what do I expect?

Should I 3bet flop?
Fold river after the 3 barrel? Or turn?

What's the best line here?

My opinion is that 3betting on the flop is more reasonable than calling because you get more information. If played like this BB could have even 89 or more likely 88 or 99. actually most likely he has a set. well, the hands you beat could be A9 but I don't think he would go all-in on the river and make such a big bet on the turn. with just a top pair. If you put him on an overpair too then there is more sense in 3betting the flop because an avarage player won't fold any overpair in these limits. But as played I think you were behind a set

if player is unknown then you can take b7c flop and fold to strong turn bet line, since they usually have there 98 or set most of the times
If player is aggressive you can 3-bet flop to 20$ and call shove or b/c flop and then shove over his turn bet
I also like shoving turn more than calling turn and calling river, since if you get to the river, you find yourself often being behind, but if you shove turn you´re also protecting your hand against draws
