Poker Stars $0.02/$0.05 No Limit Hold'em - 8 players

BB: $7.36
UTG: $2.95
UTG+1: $5.14
MP1: $6.64
MP2: $5.00
Hero (CO): $1.93
BTN: $5.91
SB: $5.00

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is CO with K  9
4 folds, Hero raises to $0.15, 2 folds, BB calls $0.10

Flop: ($0.32) 8  J  9 :spade: (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($0.32) K :spade: (2 players)
BB bets $0.20, Hero raises to $0.60, BB calls $0.40

River: ($1.52) 2 :spade: (2 players)
BB bets $0.61, Hero raises to $1.18 all in, BB calls $0.57

I think that the missing continuation bet is a fault, but what about the raises at turn and river? Should I raise more at the turn for preventing the draw or just check/call all the streets? I have to improve thinking about my plans for a hand, since my check at the flop seems like controlling the pot and then I value bet.

You should cbet OTF. As played I think raising OTT is fine but OTR is a mistake. Villain will never bet less than 1/2pot as a bluff after your raise on the turn. So villain has a value hand, the question is, is it better than top 2? I think it is.
