SB: $12.35 (123.5 bb)
Hero (BB): $10 (100 bb)
MP: $8.33 (83.3 bb)
CO: $14.75 (147.5 bb)
BTN: $10.89 (108.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A A
MP raises to $0.30, 3 folds, Hero raises to $1, MP calls $0.70

Flop: ($2.05) 5 7 J (2 players)
Hero bets $1.10, MP calls $1.10

Turn: ($4.25) 3 (2 players)
Hero bets $2.10, MP calls $2.10

River: ($8.45) J (2 players)
Hero??

Preflop: MP plays 26/17 in 42 hands. Looks like a fish or a weakish reg. Decided to 3bet for value.

Flop: Cbetting for value. No info about his play vs cbets.

Turn: Cbetting for value, fixing the size for shoving the river.

River: Probably the worst card hits, but since he is probably a fish, I believe there are still worse hands calling. Not sure, though. Cbet, check/call or check/fold?

You have 1/2 pot be on river, so easy bet and hope villain shows up with QQ. If "she's got the Jack" , whatever, next time.

Against AJs,AJo,QQ+ we have 73%. I think you can jam the river.
If we check OTR villain could bluff or bet his QQ,KK, so x/f is not an option? If villain is passive I think it is better to bet here.

Bet it out with what's left. Xf is not an option.

Why do you say cbetting for value? You either cbet as a bluff or bet for value. I think it was very well played. Close your eyes and jam the river. If he had the J on that flop he would have shown more action earlier I suppose.

You can also induce some bluff, x/c's also an option.

Term cbet (continuation bet) means that you bet as a pre-flop aggressor. It doesn't mean that the bet is bluff. That is why he said "cbet for value". :)

A continuation bet is made if you do not flop anything to continue telling a story when you do not flop anything. Otherwise it is a bet for value.

No. What la55i said is correct

La55i is right, continuation bet means continuing aggression from preflop and it is a cbet regardless of whether it's value, bluff or missclick

Yeh, pokerstrategy glossary says "often as a bluff", well then all bets on the flop are cbets if you are the aggressor according to the glossary.... I see a cbet as one if I choose it to be a bluff, at least in my mind.

Would you play KJ TP 2nd kicker like that calling down? Do you think villain played this bad and sucked out?

Yes it is often used as a bluff because we don't hit the flop very often but also valuebets are called continuation bets. The glossary is correct. All the bets OTF are cbets if you are the aggressor. The word "often" means that they are not always bluffs.

My holdem manager 2 shows a cbet stat for villain. It would be awesome if my HM really knew how often villain bluffs :)

I wouldn't call this hand preflop vs a 3bet MP vs BB. Postflop is not that bad, I believe. Turn call is a bit thin, but probably not terrible.

You cbet when you raised preflop and are the pfa. This means you continue to attack the pot.

It says so because you will flop something around 30% of the time but will have a flop cbet of around 50-65%. Which means more then half is as a bluff.

If we accept that in some miraculous way we called preflop with this then why not call down...
