I dont think that we should be calling here with a player behind on the button would be my first point

He seems like a pretty solid player and I would think could have many hands that he is squeezing with but I dont think that calling is right, I would rather 4bet

As for the turn play it is strange but he might have an over pair and checks flop to you to let you bluff then leads out turn because he doesnt want you to check behind

Honestly, you shouldn't be playing 98s if you're not sure what to do in this spot.

You need to know your Villain well enough to know whether you're behind or not. It sounds like you don't.

Hello ragney,

Preflop: No plan, no specific reads/stats I wouldn't be calling here. His 3bet ain't even that wide. Either 4bet it or just fold.

As played
Postflop: He can have everything there, may even have A high and which plays this way. :) Difficult to say just from few stats which are represented. But folding is definitely fine.
