PokerStars - $0.50 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: $22.67 (VPIP: 17.94, PFR: 12.06, 3Bet Preflop: 2.83, Hands: 689)
BB: $73.67 (VPIP: 45.00, PFR: 21.67, 3Bet Preflop: 8.00, Hands: 61)
UTG: $150.34 (VPIP: 24.17, PFR: 13.74, 3Bet Preflop: 5.17, Hands: 1,743)
Hero (CO): $77.06
BTN: $130.39 (VPIP: 23.57, PFR: 16.73, 3Bet Preflop: 4.00, Hands: 266)

SB posts SB $0.25, BB posts BB $0.50

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.75) Hero has K♣ K♠ 5♣ A♦

fold, Hero raises to $1.50, fold, fold, BB calls $1.00

Flop: ($3.25, 2 players) Q♦ 2♣ 9♦
BB checks, Hero bets $2.48, BB calls $2.48

Turn: ($8.21, 2 players) 4♣
BB checks, Hero bets $7.84, BB calls $7.84

River: ($23.89, 2 players) Q♥
BB bets $17.10, Hero calls $17.10

Not really good flop for my hand, but I block many strong draws, so I bet. Turn brings me a fd and I often have the bets hand (I cannot rule out strong hands completely though, since we are so deep), so I bet again and bet big, since the board is so wet. I guess the river is a call, with all the draws busted, also why would he donk the river on such perfect barreling card for me and not ch/r or ch/c.

Hi,

again a very small sample so hard to give a good answer. He could be calling with Q4 and Q2 here, but that really shouldn't be a big part of his range, so i think calling is fine. With a bigger sample def take a look at his river af!

I don't know anything about PLO50, but is this really a standard call as default?
Sure villain's donk is very strange but when Hero has been betting two streets he have to give us credit for having Qxxx also.

We have 60 hands on villain so i think it's fair to assume that he have the same amount. I find it somewhat hard to believe that during this time villain have already gathered solid reads for Hero being aggressive enough to barrell two streets with overpair + FD (those are the only combos of better hands he can make fold if he is bluffing). Otherwise every trips+ are at least calling and busted draws are definitely folding. Ok, maybe he wants to make those A-Hi busted draws to fold if he have Kxxx.

On the other hand, if he is v-betting he can't expect too many calls by anything worse.

But if this kind of lines are very common in PLO50, then i understand the calling but otherwise i'd like to hear some reasoning why we call.. ;)

Hi,

first of all villains stats look fishy, so i doubt he even has a hud.

2nd his line doesn't make sense. Villain is never donking this bet size otr with bare trips; players at plo50 just don't do that. So the only hands it makes sense for him to donk there are Q9xx and Q4xx. Q9xx raises the turn a big % of the time; Q4xx is a very unlikely holding to call preflop or even to call the flop cbet.

So imho it's far more likely villain has a big draw that busts, than him having Q4 or Q9.
