Hello, Im trying to learn the game from the ground up.
I'm curious about my betsizes. What makes me thinking there are no 2nd nuts on the str8 board what makes it harder to call for him.
Is pot-pot too optimistic for value?
Now Id go for 3/4 Flop, pot Turn and River some bet which induces some crying call. Half pot maybe? Im thinking about what he can call here against my potbet.

Kind of tough to see suits in this but anyway would play exactly same as default. If you have reads villain is call happy it can be better to just use bit bigger size from flop right away (e.g 3/4 pot) and then pot turn and pot river. On boards like these when we second barrel we basically say we have straight or other form of strong hand like top set with support (for value). Plus board is very dynamic. Like 89 is not nuts on A, K, Q, J, T, 9, 8, 7 or spade anymore. So when we have nuts it has lot of incentive to get max protection.
Then on river 89 is still nuts and if we bet we basically say we have only nuts for value. Maybe like JJ99 type potentially as well blocking straight and beating everyhting else. Its up to villain to believe that story or not.
i think also 3/4 flop is nice here. turn pot for max protection(we block the nut fd, but still smaller fd could be live as combo draw or so) and pot river for max value seems fine - almost nothing got there so i guess could also argue for going kinda small 1/3ish, but thats always the gamble with the nuts in that spot imo, some villains think pot is "bluffheavy" calling off and may even fold to 1/3, others will only call 1/3 and give up vs bigger here.
On avg you will get more calls going small i assume and you have a small chance of villain stacking off against it turning their hand into a bluff, but the few times where they just cant let go vs pot are also very valuable. So really don't know whats the better option (probably a choice that depends a lot on the villain in the end?)
on the flop - sure the board is "kinda locked" in sense of madehands that are possible, but still very drawheavy (also in a dangerous way for our hand - KQxx-ish hands that we unblock will pay us out trying to get there a lot imo and better to not make it cheap for those - TTxx same)
Betsizes are pretty important. Not good at, but got it this time right.
