Hero (SB): $12.25 (122.5 bb)
BB: $11.19 (111.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8 3 8 3
UTG raises to $0.30, MP calls $0.30, CO raises to $1.35, BTN folds, Hero calls $1.30, BB folds, UTG raises to $5.80, MP folds, CO calls $0.75 and is all-in, Hero??

I'd fold to the initial raise and 3-bet rather than cold calling with a low double paired hand OOP. This hand has reverse implied odds when you get oversetted and you don't close the action and can get 4-bet, as happened here.

Make it double suited and I would be much more inclined to cold call.

Hey,

you have the worst possible double paired hand (almost), and you are not closing the action so you should definetly fold preflop. Not to mention that the shorty was the 3bettor, so UTG might even 4b lighter.

If you had a hand like 8855ds or better, you might call, but even then it's not a big + EV play with the shorty in the hand.

It's important to note these situations.

When CO (shorty) 3 bets and you cold call, you never have aces in this spot. So UTG or MP will happily 4 bet shove over the top with kings or queens to make some dead money or get it in good in a nice side pot.

This is fundamentally why you have to fold preflop.
