Preflop: Raise pot instead of minraise. This also put you into a troublesome situation postflop.

Postflop I think it's really close, you need 41% to do what you did but you have ~38% vs AA**. Therefore, I think that c/c F and reevaluate on turn would actually be better.

The flop raise was the worst part of this as villain definitely has an ace.

You're probably going to end up shoving a turn card unless it pairs the board at which point you should fold.

I normally min-raise from UTG because people tend to hop in no matter what from late positions, even if I open it at 3.5BBs, so I figure I can keep the pot smaller or call smaller raises.

Next time somebody raises me I'll give them at least some credit for an Ace then... ♠_biggrin:

Well, your UTG range should be pretty tight, nutty and value-based. You will not really raise from UTG as a bluff. If people decide to call and join in, it's likely that their ranges will be weaker than yours. Doesn't it make sense to invest more money in with a strong range ;)?

It will be really hard for you to make money in the long by minraising because you won't get paid off with your value hands, and you will also allow even more people to join the pot and suckout on your premium hands.

I would recommend raising pot from all positions on PLO10 if you're playing ABC with tight ranges. If you are playing looser, you could raise pot from UTG + HJ, 3bb from CO and 2.5bb from BU as you don't want to get a lot of money in the pot with weak ranges. But with strong ranges, you want to get as much money in the pot as possible, because you have an advantage over the other players and want to get paid off for it.
