as played - yeah, I would play it pretty much the same

thing is, that AKo does not have a good playability post vs his calling range

I would most likely make it around 160 pre-flop. Than it's easier to shove the flop with less than a pot size bet left.
The rest seems pretty standard to shove with 2 over cards and backdoor flush draw.

Just shove pre. You could make a 3b of 100 where you leave big enough SPR postflop to play. But against bad opponents shoving pre is the way to go. I suggest you don't do small 3bets at all with effective stack <25bb until you get to higher stakes and you know exactly what you're trying to accomplish with them.

As played, your 3b size obviously commits you preflop, so shove any flop is the only way to play. You made that decision preflop with your 3b size, so asking about postflop play is irrelevant. It's your preflop decision that's in question in this hand.

As why shoving is superior, you will probably get a bit more calls preflop vs a smaller size than against a shove, but on the other you give hands like KJ, A2o etc. a chance to fold posflop while they would call your shove all-in preflop. So, you get some EV by raising smaller, but you also lose some all the while you negate the positional disadvantage and make fewer mistakes by shoving.
