8 handed on final table of 45pp s-n-g. Was this the right call or should I have folded? (villain had A8o). I got lucky here and wound up winning the tourney ($17.10) but I wonder if this hand should've been folded under ideal circumstances.

i fold this 9-handed when villain openshoves into a side-pot of 0..

stack sizes would be nice, but it seems like you are pretty deepstacked still, hence less likely for him to be doing this with just a flush draw, etc.

you dont want so many in the hand and think I would push the reraise preflop to get it head-up , with calling you are giving them odds to call

on the flop I would ask myself if I thought my hand was good and would wait for a better position

I need stacksizes to say it for sure, but I would very likely shove over the shorty.
