this was 30 players SNG so we were already ITM and most prize was in top 2 players. So I was playing for win. but still I am wondering if wouldnt be more +EV to play hand more defensively and try to overleast 2 short stacks.

i would have cbet flop..then he might have folded there

I'm not sure you will ever successfully steal from a BB with this big a stack, and the hand isn't strong enough for anything but that.

Given the likelihood that I can get HU against him by not playing him now, I would just fold here preflop. I know we are ITM, and we play to win etc., but here you stand to lose more than you gain most often I think.

This. As played I don't like the check/raise. We don't really have the best stacksizes to do it. So I prefer just leading small on the flop

first mistake is raising it to 2400 that way you re building a big pot with mediocre hand and don t get that much more fe from the bb, post flop bet 2/3 pot, if you check and he raises then you cant be sure you are ahead so check raise is not an option here , as you played the hand you could also check call and reevaluate the turn pls dont take notice of my bronze status i was winner of party poker monthly leaderboard once so i m a little bit experienced ♦
