Straight? The flush you mean right? And where are your hole cards, just curious..

(PS - You almost gave Gilles79 good enough odds to call you down. eric74suited did have correct odds to call you. Not to mention implied odds, but I guess it was virtually zero, because you folded. Good read. I'm assuming you had 9-x, what was your kicker like? If you had TPHK, bet 2/3 pot next time on flop. That turn bet was also kind of weak and you gave them both good odds to see the river.)

my whole cards were 7,4 off, i rivered the straight.
I had an open ender on the turn. i only bet 100 to keep them in there to pay me off if i hit my straight either way and also only bet that ltitle amount if they were drawing to their flush so i wouldnt go broke and still get out of their and not be commited if they did hit their flush.
Would that be the right way to look at it?

Oh, um, well we can cut right through all of the turn confusion by dealing with the flop situation. What was your purpose for betting out on the flop? Just trying to see what your train of thought was. To me, that was a check/fold situation. 7-4o was a trash hand on that flop imo because the only draw you had was a double gutshot straightdraw. You would've had to hit 1 of your 9 outs on the turn, and another 1 of your remaining 6 outs on the river. You don't particularly want to chase down runner-runner draws. You just got lucky enough to hit one of your outs on the turn, which put you into a sticky situation for chasing another one of your outs on the river.

Did I do this right?

2,-,4,5,-,7,-,9

I discounted the 3 :diamond:, the 6 :diamond:, and the 8 :diamond:

I know its against Pokerstrategy for SnG but all the 60 was a feeler bet because the board was low and i ahd low cards and noone showed strength.
But your right i didnt discount those 3 diamond cards and i should of have.
I should of check/folded from the start.
The hand was more of a way of showing a good read when i was beting on all rounds and actually hit my hand strongly.

hi justkyle88,

check/fold flop. it's ok to bet out in heads up pots, but 3-way, the likelihood someone has hit something (especially on 2flush boards!) is too high, therefore your fold equity is too low to make a bluff profitable.

feeler/probe bets are for when you have a weak made hand, and you want to see where you are. here on the flop, you have nothing, so if even if they give you information, by telling you what hands they have, you still have to rely on second(/third!!!) barrelling for winning the pot. which is very unprofitable in SNG.

as played, on the turn, with a good draw in SNG, on this blank a card (it's not scary for anyone, really... only the gutshot got there), i would play check and reevaluate if i had the odds to call.

as played, on the river, i would bet half pot/fold or bet half pot/call. bet/fold is if 1 player raises, and the third calls, bet/call is if 1 player raises (and i have reads that he's bad enough to raise 2pair), and the third folds.

Yeah, I understand your urges to get a feel of where you are in the hand. But, it's a 4-way pot, and someone has something (the odds of the other three not having anything are extremely low). This may sound harsh, but you on the other hand, have nothing. So a feeler bet in this hand is pointless. In the majority of cases, if not all cases, you're WAY behind.

Sorry for the criticism, I understand that the purpose of this thread was not for me to analyze your play, but to comment on one of your good laydowns. I just had to point some things out though! Don't take it the wrong way.

EDIT: Darn, chenny beat me to the punch! Skip my reply.. hold on, well it's too late now aint it?
