As played you can't raise the river because you will get called by better hands only most of the times.

After he checked I wanted a free card as I didn't hit and didn't feel like cbetting...
I was thinking really hard about calling on turn - but as he checked the Q before I thought that he either might only hold Ace high or some busted straight draws.
When the King flops he bets a little more than 2/3 of pot. I wasn't too afraid a douple pair as I thought I have the top pair (Ks) and the public pair(7s) and an Ace kicker. Didn't put him on low trash so I suspected that he wouldn't have hit the 7s set.

Of course, any kind of broadway hands are certainly in his range - but oh well

would bet lot more preflop in these freerolls , with cbet flop to find out where you are but would not bluff turn here & wait to get paid off in this

Your default play should be cbet and give up if you get action.

Checking behind the flop gives him the opportunity to bluff the turn so I think, it is ok to call the turnbet after you check behind.
On the river your only play is a call or valuebet if he checks to you.

If he bluffs, you wont get called anyway when you raise and I dont see too many made hands worse than AK calling your raise.
