Hello I need an opinion on a hand, I have been getting a lot of grief of my friends about folding and I told them I would go onto pokerstrategy (even though I have not been here in agesssss) and ask them what they think.
I was playing in the IPO No limit hold'em freeze out
I was playing brilliant all day and I had a big enough stack about 2 times the average stack and there was around 10 people left before the bubble but the bubble wasn't in my thought when I folded even though my friends say it was.
I was in the BB, action was folded to the Button and he shoved. He literally just had me covered. I looked down at AK off suit, I thought to myself I am playing good I don't need to race and risk my whole tournament and all the hands I played on a 50/50 hand I put him on a small pair. He then said "I have 9 high call" so pocket 9's I guess. I layed my AK down and showed the table, my friends and some of the players where thinking "what the fuck" but I was thinking I am out playing all these people post flop I am not getting messed up pre flop, especially that all I am wasting is a BB!
When I watch poker on TV all the Pros go all in instant with AK so maybe that is why my friends think I am an idiot but I stand by my justification.
Any thoughts?
